New Sanctuary Questions and Answers
from the Sanctuary Reconstruction Task Force

We are sure by now that all HAB church members are aware that the congregation, in a called business conference on June 29, 2008, did affirm the recommendation of the Sanctuary Reconstruction Task Force to move forward with the design and location of the new sanctuary by a vote of 240 to 8. On June 30, 2008 (the next Monday night), the Sanctuary Reconstruction Task Force met with architects, contractor, and engineers to organize the next step, which will take us through the permitting stage. Groundbreaking is scheduled for October 5, 2008.

The subcommittees of the Sanctuary Reconstruction Task Force are now hard at work putting the details of this project together. They will make their recommendations to the full Reconstruction Task Force, which in turn will approve those recommendations and implementation.

As of the writing of this brief report (July 8, 2008), we are in the final negotiations with Wachovia Bank for the construction loan as outlined in the recommendation to the church on June 22, 2008.
